Maybe I'm overthinking this, but at that panel, Norman said that the Sophia arc is his favorite Daryl arc. What was interesting was how in the middle of speaking about that arc, he veers off into if Daryl falls in love comments- unprompted, saying when Daryl falls in love, he's going to fall in love forever. " I've said that forever" - Basically I find it odd that he would be talking about that Carol/Daryl/Sophia story and also be thinking about a new love interest at the same time. Well I think Norman has been playing Daryl as in love with Carol for years without confirmation. It was very obvious he had feelings for her he didn’t quite know what to do with in 2B after the Sophia reveal. Then at the prison, he looked gutted at the idea of having to put down what he likely assumed was Walker Carol. Season 5 he was all over her when they reunited, and he made sure to keep an eye on her when she left the church to leave in that car. Plus, how can we forget him going all Hulk on Richard for suggesting Carol’s death trigger a fight with Negan?
