I don’t say that out of gut instinct or convoluted reading into things. There is just no other interpretation to the comments below: End of season 9, AK says in s10 they will exploring aspects of Daryl getting into a romantic relationship. Before this season starts, AK reveals she had talks with Norman about what he thinks about Daryl and a relationship, how would Daryl act, where is his heart? Norman confirms that there have been relationship talks, and relates it to Caryl. And reveals he had ideas that made it into episode 1. Norman confirms that the ideas he had for episode 1, were Caryl ideas. Finally, Norman specifies which bits of Caryl came from those talks - the diea of running away together, at the very least. So literally, there’s no other way to take these quotes thank AK and Norman had talks about Daryl in a relationship, from that came some of the Caryl scenes in ep1, including the idea of running away, and are things that will play out through the season. Where Daryl’s heart is with Caryl. And what Daryl looks like in a relationship is apparently making friendship bracelets and taking trays of food with a flower on them! 2) Norman has said repeatedly and unequivocally that there is only one love for Daryl. That’s it. One and only. Like eagles and penguins and flamingos. He has reiterated that AGAIN this year. Once it’s done, it’s done, it’s only happening once. Therefore, there is no midship. No equivalent to Tobin or Ezekiel. Daryl will have one love. And as we established above - that’s Carol. 3) Every time Norman has been asking about Connie and romance he has COMPLETELY shifted the question to be about Connie and Kelly, and the importance of communication.
